Alpha Omega Epsilon is UW-Madison's
only social and professional sorority for women in engineering and
the technical sciences.
There's
always a good time to be had when a group of A O E sisters get together. Throughout
the year, we love to have fun. Some events done throughout the year
include trips to an apple orchard, attending sporting events and
cheering the Badgers on to victory, sledding, and movie nights. In
addition, as active associate members of the Panhellenic Council,
College of Engineering student council, and College of Agriculture
and Life Science' Student council, we collaborate with other Greeks
and student organizations throughout the year on events such as
Homecoming, E-Week, and Greek Week. Recent events include cook-outs,
mixers, chapter dinners, semi-formals and formals, and coffee dates. You're
always in for a treat when hanging out with Alpha Ep!
Academics
are an important component of life as an A O E. Our chapter has
many programs in place to assure the best possible academic achievement
of each sister. From group study nights to goal setting to rewards,
A O E aims to give each sister the tools necessary to succeed in
school. Best of all, as all sisters are in similar majors, it's
easy to find a sister in your class or willing to tutor you!
The
Professional Pillar sets A O E apart from many other sororities. This
Pillar provides connections to and events about the professional
world. Examples of some events are guest speakers, dinners (networking
and etiquette), company tours, etc. Some companies will contact
our chapter when they have internships or open position. These opportunities
are then forwarded to the active sisters who can apply at their
own discretion. This Pillar offers many benefits and opportunities
for both personal and professional growth.
Philanthropy
is also a very essential part of Alpha Ep. Our annual philanthropy
is "Bumps for Humps", a volleyball tournament benefiting the American
Breast Cancer Society. Year-round, we work with the Neighborhood
House to provide after-school educational and entertaining programs
for children. We also can be found volunteering in many other places!
With clothes drives, letters to soldiers, participating in other
Greek Organizations' Philanthropies and more, A O E provides plenty
of opportunities to serve the community..
Most
importantly of all, in Alpha Omega Epsilon you will find a family
and a home away from home. As an Alpha Ep, you'll call bright, motivated,
and beautiful women your sisters as you join an open and loving
home.
